Autism Parent Consultation Day
Autism Parent Consultation Day
Autism, also known as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), is a neurodevelopmental disorder that affects communication, social interaction, and behavior. It is a complex disorder that can manifest in different ways and to varying degrees in individuals. People with autism may have difficulty with social interaction, communication, and may display repetitive or restricted behaviors. They may also have difficulty with sensory processing, which can result in either over- or under-sensitivity to certain stimuli. Autism is a spectrum disorder, meaning that the severity of symptoms and the extent to which they impact an individual’s life can vary widely.
If you’re a parent of a child who is diagnosed or suspected to have autism, you may have concerns about the diagnosis as well as questions regarding finding the right treatment for your child’s need. At AP, we understand how confusing and overwhelming it can be for parents.
This February, we’re having a Parent Consultation Day(s). Bring your child for an informal observation, and our Director/Associate Director(s) will be there to:
- Address any concerns about your child, treatment, and autism 🔍
- Share their observations with you 👀
- Provide recommendations on next steps, including therapy intensity, goals, and directions for your child. 📋
Whether your child is suspected to have autism, recently diagnosed, or if you’re considering switching from another service provider, we welcome your questions. This consultation is free, offering you the opportunity to clarify any concerns you may have.
