Autism Talk: A Comprehensive Treatment for Children with ASD – Autism Partnership Method (APM)
Speaker: Associate Director (Clinical), Ms Reshani Satharasighe (MSc ABA, BCBA)
Parenting a child with autism can present many challenges and one of them is searching for the right treatment for children diagnosed with ASD. An effective and evidence-based treatment for autism is Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). ABA is the only approach that has the most extensive research and has been scientifically proven to be the most effective treatment for children with autism to date. However, not all ABA are the same. At AP, we developed our unique approach to ABA, known as the Autism Partnership Method (APM).
In contrast to conventional ABA or typical curriculum taught in mainstream schools, the APM is a highly flexible yet systematic and comprehensive treatment for children with ASD dealing with all areas of learning, including social skills, communication, play, readiness to learn skills as well as independent living, while addressing behaviours that interfere with learning. Our goal is to equip children with all the critical foundational skills necessary for long-term success and ongoing development.
During this talk, Ms Reshani Satharasinghe (MSc ABA, BCBA) will share the comprehensive range of skills that we teach at Autism Partnership and the various critical factors that contribute to the best outcome for children with autism.
